Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 15, 2026·App: COD Verifier (Shopify application)

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the COD Verifier Shopify application (the “App”) and this website. By installing, accessing, or using the App, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

1. About COD Verifier

COD Verifier is a Shopify app designed to help merchants confirm Cash on Delivery (COD) orders before fulfillment. Features may include identifying COD orders, supporting verification workflows, recording confirmation outcomes, and helping reduce fake orders, unreachable deliveries, and return-to-origin (RTO) costs.

Exact features depend on your plan, App version, and store configuration. We may improve, change, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical.

2. Eligibility and authority

  • You must have an active Shopify store and authority to install apps and grant API permissions for that store.
  • If you install the App on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
  • You must comply with Shopify's Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and all applicable Partner / App Store requirements.

3. Account, installation, and permissions

When you install the App, Shopify will ask you to grant certain permissions (API scopes). Those permissions are required for COD verification — for example, reading order and customer contact information. You are responsible for reviewing those permissions before approving installation.

You are responsible for safeguarding Shopify Admin access, staff accounts, and any credentials related to the App. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Merchant responsibilities

As the merchant, you agree that you will:

  • Use the App only for legitimate confirmation of COD (or similarly designated) orders for your own store.
  • Comply with all applicable laws regarding telemarketing, messaging, privacy, consumer protection, and call recording where contact with customers is involved.
  • Provide accurate information to customers about how their orders are handled and verified.
  • Obtain any consents required under local law for contacting buyers using phone, SMS, WhatsApp, email, or other channels.
  • Not use the App to harass customers, spam contacts, scrape data, or process personal data unrelated to order verification.
  • Remain solely responsible for order acceptance, cancellation, refunds, fulfillment decisions, and customer service outcomes.

COD Verifier is a decision-support and operations tool. It does not guarantee that every verified order will be paid on delivery, completed, or free of fraud.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, abuse, or overload the App or related APIs except as permitted by law.
  • Attempt to bypass security, billing, usage limits, or Shopify platform controls.
  • Use the App in a way that violates Shopify policies or infringes others' rights.
  • Upload malware or interfere with other merchants' use of the service.
  • Resell, sublicense, or white-label the App without our prior written consent.

6. Fees and billing

Pricing, free trials, and subscription plans (if any) are presented on the Shopify App listing and/or in the App. Charges for paid plans are billed through Shopify's billing system. By subscribing, you authorize those charges according to Shopify's billing terms.

Uninstalling the App may stop future subscription charges according to Shopify's billing rules; it does not automatically refund prior periods unless required by law or stated in a written offer. Taxes may apply based on your location and Shopify's invoicing.

7. Intellectual property

The App, website, branding, and related content are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your Shopify store solely as permitted by these Terms and Shopify's platform.

You retain ownership of your store content and customer data. You grant us a limited license to process that data solely to provide and improve the App as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data are described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. You agree to present and honor an appropriate privacy notice to your customers covering COD verification contact practices.

9. Third-party services

The App depends on Shopify and may interact with other third-party services (hosting, messaging, analytics). We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or data handling outside our control. Your use of Shopify remains governed by your agreement with Shopify.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that verification outcomes will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that confirmed orders will always result in successful delivery or payment. Operational decisions (fulfill, hold, cancel) remain yours.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, LOST BUSINESS, OR COURIER / RTO / INVENTORY COSTS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE APP OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US FOR THE APP THROUGH SHOPIFY DURING THE THREE (3) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR, IF YOU ARE ON A FREE PLAN, ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100)).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless COD Verifier and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your customer communications or verification practices; (c) your violation of these Terms or applicable law; or (d) disputes between you and your customers or carriers.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time from Shopify Admin. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by Shopify or law, or if continued use creates risk or harm. Sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) will survive termination.

14. Changes to the App or Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. For material changes, we may provide notice via the App, email, or this website. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where local law requires additional consent.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the developer's primary place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer or merchant protection laws in your jurisdiction apply.
